Staying healthy during the Chinese new year period can be challenging. Social gatherings with tons of good food available make it easy to overeat. For the health conscious individuals out there, here are some alternatives to keep yourself in check.
Commonly used as a decorative piece in the house during CNY, mandarin oranges are actually a great snack to have. This sweet, fragrant fruit is packed full of vitamin C & antioxidants it helps boost immunity and improves overall health. It also contains dietary fibre, which aids in weight loss and lowering cholesterol levels.

Nuts & Seeds
Some of the more common ones you may find during your visits are dried melon seeds, pistachios or mixed nuts. These provide a bunch of nutrients such as unsaturated fats, protein, vitamins, minerals and fibre. However, do note to avoid the salted or coated versions as they do contain extra calories in the form of sugar and are high in sodium.
